A gladiolius that needs no staking yet grows full-size blooms and blooms a full 10-15 days earlier.
For years, hybridizers the world over tried in vain to create a true dwarf gladiolus. It wasn't until very recently that the horticulturists of the For Ever Cooperative Breeders' Association in the Netherlands had a major breakthrough - a new gladiolus appeared in their test gardens that was a mere 20" tall, half the height of ordinary 3-4' glads. Yet this short plant produced full-size blooms with all the magnificent colour and fluttery, tissue-paperlike petals you'd expect from a prize-winning glad! Breck's has selected the top 5 glamini varieties, literally the cream of the crop, for this very exclusive collection:
Charlotte - lustrous white petals blending witha lemon-yellow throat will brighten any display.
Eva - delicate pink with a purple pink throat and striking white stripes - unique and exciting!
Zoe - peachy-orange petals flow from a citron yellow throat for a floral treat in your summertime borders.
Christopher - flower petals are a heady mixture of rich purple and wine red you will want to savor.
