Description

Giant beauty is ideal for growing in back of a border.

This towering, flowering plant is perfect for adding visual interest behind other, smaller perennials. Butterf lies, hummingbirds and bees can't resist the allure of the delicately crinkled, scarlet, 3–5" blooms. The fully double flowers grow singly on stalks reaching up to 7' tall. Not only is it drought tolerant and unappetizing to deer, this hollyhock grows safely beneath black walnut trees. It tolerates the toxic juglone released into the ground by the trees' roots. Excellent as a cut flower. Performs best in rich, moist, well-drained soil.
