Description

Produces the darkest foliage of any astilbe!

In mid to late summer, it bears lots of large, long-lasting plumes, each of which consists of hundreds of tiny, purple flowers tinged in blue. During the rest of the season, it's the divided, fernlike, extremely dark green leaves of Black Pearls that steal the show. Grows easily in regular to moist soil when the earth is not allowed to dry out.
