In regions with colder climates, it's advisable to either apply a generous layer of mulch over the crocosmia bed during autumn, or dig up the bulbs and store them indoors for the winter.

Fire King Crocosmia typically requires one to two years to establish itself, transforming into a sturdy plant that steadily grows in size.
