Jack in the Pulpit

Jack in the Pulpit

Something very different for your shade garden!

Jack-in-the-Pulpit is a distinctive flowering plant native to wooded areas of eastern North America. Its unique bloom consists of a green and reddish-brown, hooded stalk called a spathe that encloses a spadix--a small, upright spike--of microscopic green to purple florets. The overall effect is that of a preacher sermonizing from a pulpit! In fall, the spathe falls away to reveal a tight cluster of bright red berries that birds feed on. Enjoy this easy-care perennial year after year in a shade garden or stand of trees.Ariseama triphyllum

Shipping

Important Shipping Notes:

Breck's times its shipments from Holland so that bulbs and bareroots arrive at the proper planting time (depending on climatic conditions) for each area of North America. To promote optimum stress protection in transit and your success in the garden, bareroot perennials are kept in the ground in our nurseries until fully dormant. In the Fall, these plants tend to arrive at the later end of the shipping window below.

We will pack and ship your order based on the following schedules. The type of product you order or the weather may affect the anticipated shipping schedule below. Based on the contents of your order we always strive to ship your order complete, and as early as possible in the planting season to allow for the best root development once planted.
